Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

 Title: Shiver

Author: Maggie Stiefvater

Pages: 392

Age group: 14+

From: Christmas Present to Moi :)

Genre: Romance, Fantasy (Werewolves)

Blurb: For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human ... until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay
human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Review: First of I'll start by saying that this was the last book I read last year. And I was happy to read this book as my last of '09 because Shiver was amazing! This is definitely an example of a 5 star book!

What I loved about Shiver was the characters - though really the names? I mean Sam and Paul (twilight saga), and Shelby (Never Cry Werewolf). Anyway I loved the characters especially of Sam and Grace. The love between them really felt real to me.

And the way that Maggie wrote - wow! Reading this book, it just reminds me of a poem for some reason. I really think that this story was original, creative and unpredictable. Though both my sister and I were a little confused by the ending. I can't wait for the next book in the series Linger!

I recommend this book to everyone!
